Description

These are Chippewa Model 27422 “Ruttman” Firefighter Boots, a classic station-boot design that also makes an excellent motorcycle boot.

The boots are black with Chippewa’s Hi-Shine finish. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is usually all it takes to bring the shine back.

They are completely leather lined and feature:
– EPS steel toe
– ANSI 75 steel bottom plate
– Kush-N-Kollar
– Vibram lug sole
– Approximately 1.25-inch sole
– Approximately 8 inches from the top of the heel to the top of the shaft

One of the unique features of this model is the center zipper on the front of the boot, which makes them particularly easy to put on and take off. The YKK zipper insert has two side laces that can be adjusted for a comfortable fit. Once adjusted, they generally do not need to be adjusted again.

This pair of boots was purchased in 2017 and were worn while riding, but alternated with other motorcycle boots, so the wear is minor — well broken-in. There are no tears or damage to the exterior, interior, or soles.

The metal zipper is in good condition. Zipper wax will help improve zipper functionality.

These are substantial, purpose-built boots with a distinctive design that works equally well for station wear, riding, or everyday use.
